Quintessa staff have world-renowned expertise on the modelling of coupled systems, considering Thermal-Hydraulic-Mechanical-Chemical processes.
Models can be produced using both commercially-available software (e.g. COMSOL) and “in-house” software (e.g. QPAC). Coupled processes have been investigated in a variety of settings for repository and experimental-scale systems.

The above figures show the relative humidity in the Mont Terri Rock Laboratory micro-tunnel Ventilation Experiment (top) and water saturation in the host-rock (bottom) using fully coupled Hydro-Mechanical calculations in QPAC.
