New TESLA Features

Quintessa is currently preparing the release of Version 2.2 of its TESLA decision support software based on Evidence Support Logic. This update will introduce two new features to help visualise and model decision processes for complex and uncertain issues.

Confidence Flow Lines are a new visual tool for tracking the flow of confidence through a decision from the data-supported leaf hypotheses to the root decision hypothesis. This is particularly useful for assessing how logic and parameterisation affects the flow of confidence through the tree. An illustrative example is shown below.

Also, an improved necessity heuristic will be available that is symmetric with respect to confidence for and against, and that allows groups of sibling hypotheses to be configured either as necessarily true or as necessarily false.

The new release is scheduled for Autumn 2014.
