The ‘Implementing Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste Technology Platform’ (IGD-TP) held its inaugural Geodisposal conference in Manchester, UK between the 24th and 26th of June 2014. A wide range of geological disposal issues were discussed, including the status of major and ‘less-developed’ programmes, siting, social acceptance and specific technical issues.
Quintessa presented two poster papers, both funded by Radioactive Waste Management Limited, concerning representation of marine and estuarine biospheres in performance assessments and multi-scale whole-repository modelling of water and gas transport. The posters are available for download (IGD-TP 2014 Marine Poster and IGD-TP FORGE 2014 Poster) and more information on the conference is available here.
